The software is constantly being improved. It is developed mostly for Windows, but builds for Linux and macOS are available (perhaps with some limitations, depending on your situation). Everything is free, nothing phones home, and the source code is included with the release. Tags and files can be anonymously shared through custom servers that any user may run. It organises your files into an internal database and browses them with tags instead of folders, a little like a booru on your desktop. If something does go wrong, let me know and we’ll figure it out.The hydrus network client is a desktop application written for Anonymous and other internet enthusiasts with large media collections. If you can, make sure you run a full backup of your db folder before you try the transfer, so you can recover if anything goes wrong. It should update the db on boot just like a regular update would. The destination install can be a greater version. ![]() The db folder is completely multiplaform, so you don’t have to convert anything–just copy it. If the new computer has the same operating system, you can just move install_dir itself, but if you are going from Windows->Linux, say, then you should install the Linux release and then merge your db folder into the new install. Anonymous asked: Suppose I'd like to install Hydrus on another computer and move all my images, tags and subscriptions there - which files (aside from the pictures obviously) do I copy over to achieve that? And would it work if the destination-version is ahead of the previous one?Įverything user-created is stored under install_dir/db, so that’s the folder you want to transplant. ![]()
